Spring at Mt Cook recently was all seasons in one day, but so perfect each afternoon. We arrived to chilly rain on Friday, woke to rolling thunder and lightning, then the day progressed to perfection as below. It was the Alfa Romeo annual gathering, so a lot of fun catching up with others from around NZ, whilst comparing restoration and how-to-fix-it notes….

The following morning we had another torrential downpour, but it made for a very cosy watching of the ABs taking on France, and we all know how well that turned out. The rain stopped at lunchtime, giving us time to bail out the couple of inches of water that had been driven in under the soft top into the footwell behind the driver’s seat on the southerly side!! Just as well we did some exercise before another sumptuous feast at the Hermitage! Meanwhile back in Dunedin Millie was having a fine old time on holiday with the Dalzells, and watching her first ever ABs encounter live …. and trying (and succeeding) to ooze her way onto Karen’s lap for a cuddle – nervous watching for dogs as well!! She’s now a 1yo and is loving this beautiful weather as much as we are – each day we go for an early morning walk on Tomahawk Beach – such a beautiful start to the day – we do a great 5km walk rain, hail, shine and there is always something exciting to find there:)
