Tues/Fri weekly Breakfast Club runs from school 7.30am If you have sons or family members who are teachers at Kings or Queens don’t forget to remind them to attend the pre-school and brekky runs– such an easy way to keep your child’s fitness up to scratch for whatever sport he is involved in, or just general fitness. The boys meet and set off from school at 7.30am each Tuesday and Friday morning from school, then return and contribute $2 for their share of the breakfast available in the catering suite. A fun start to the day which Geoff has been doing with the teachers and boys since Ben started at King’s 10 years ago.
Dunedin Park Run (5km timed event from Botanic Gardens each Saturday morning – FREE). If you are not a King’s/Queen’s person but also want to join a fun group, go online and find out more about the run each week in the Gardens. As you see, it’s just a matter of registering once, then just turn up.
Caversham Harriers Half/Full Cadbury Dunedin Marathon Information evening will be returning in June again – each year we at Caversham Physio co-ordinate a great evening to help you prepare for the annual September event – if you are thinking of doing the event for the first time, or want to improve your time from previous events through some more training, do plan to come along in June this year. For a gold coin donation, which we give to the keynote speaker’s charity of choice, you will hear the experts: Geoffrey on Injury Prevention, Megan Gibbons on Nutrition, Dave Stinson on training protocols, and our keynote speaker of the year, so everyone leaves with lots of great training knowledge 3 months before the event – plenty of time to put it all into practice. If you know anyone contemplating the event, then think about attending this year’s event in JUNE 2015. We always advertise it in the STAR and will let you know in our next newsletter more details.
